Job Duties for TIG Welder Position: Read blueprints and instructions to determine welding specs and tolerances Perform TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and alloys ASME/AWS codes Prepare workpieces via cleaning, grinding, and fixturing for alignment Set up TIG equipment adjusting voltage, amperage, and gas flow Operate hoists, cranes, and lifts to handle materials safely Inspect welds for defects using visual/NDT methods and rework as needed Maintain welding equipment and report issues Follow safety protocols, PPE, 5S, and Lean principles Collaborate with team on troubleshooting and production goals Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements and Desired Skills for TIG Welder Position: High School Diploma or GED; completion of a vocational school or apprenticeship program in welding is strongly preferred Proven TIG experience in manufacturing, oil/gas, or power generation Wear PPE as required Use team lifting and equipment (hoists, cranes) for items over 50 lbs; lift up to 70 lbs individually regularly Visual acuity, including near vision, depth perception, and color vision, to perform detailed inspections of welds Blueprint reading and welding symbol proficiency Knowledge of metals, codes, and techniques Detail-oriented with strong hand-eye coordination Independent and team worker Ability to stand for duration of shift Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach
