AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, tackling challenging supply‑chain problems and seeking talent to help.
The Generation Service Technician ensures safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities in data‑center operations. The role identifies, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures, acting as the primary customer support contact for uptime and availability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and vendor management.
Follow all company safety rules and participate in accident prevention activities.
Respond to customer requests.
Travel to designated sites and perform field‑service repairs with quality and consistency.
Advise the Generator Service Manager on parts needed for repairs.
Keep the Manager informed and assist with customer questions.
Document detailed, legible repair operations.
Record time, expenses, and mileage accurately.
Travel 80‑90% of the time; work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required.
Lift up to 40 lbs and pull/push a maximum force of 40 lbs.
Wear required PPE (protective glasses, gloves, footwear).
Basic Qualifications
1+ year of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ year of data‑center or mission‑critical facilities experience.
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of data‑center engineering experience.
