Your Opportunity The Herff Jones team is looking for a Foil/Engrave Press Operator to join our Indianapolis manufacturing facility.

This is a full‑time position. Shift: Standard shift is 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may fluctuate to ten‑ and twelve‑hour days if needed during peak season including Saturdays and Sundays due to customer demand.

How You Will Make An Impact As a member of our production team, you will work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment supporting printing and distribution of high‑school and college announcements, diplomas, and diploma covers to help our customers celebrate some of their greatest achievements. As a press operator, you will lean heavily on your technical abilities, but your greatest asset will be your drive and commitment to quality and safety.

What We Want You To Accomplish

Read detailed work orders to determine setup specifications and efficiently set up your assigned machine.

Understand all product job tickets and manufacturing specifications.

Demonstrate a keen eye for detail and adhere to department quality standards.

Efficiently operate press within production guidelines with a focus on quality and safety.

What You’ll Be Doing On a Daily Basis

Follow standard operating procedures and maintain a neat and organized work area.

Operate various machines (foil, engrave, offset, etc.) safely and efficiently.

Perform routine adjustments safely during the press run and maintain quality throughout the production process.

Follow and maintain safe manufacturing practices when working with all machinery.

Maintain records of daily production using paper and electronic forms.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting and involve the maintenance technicians if help is needed.

Be a team player and have a “do what it takes” attitude when other duties are assigned based on business demand.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bi‑lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Proven ability excelling in a high production manufacturing environment which focuses on safety, quality, and organization.

Ability to learn new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually.

Strong attention to detail and quality; able to identify printing misalignment, foil defects, and template inconsistencies.

Basic computer literacy and comfort navigating production systems.

Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime including weekends during peak Fine Paper season.

Physical Activities

Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending and twisting.

Prolonged periods standing at press.

Reading, communication, simple math.

Be able to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs.

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate.
