Experienced Press Brake Operator 2nd shift
Join General Stamping & Metalworks as an experienced Press Brake Operator working the 2nd shift.
Earnings Base pay range: $20.06/hr – $23.50/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities
Operate a press brake machine to bend and shape sheet metal into precise forms for manufacturing parts and components.
Use inspection devices to inspect parts according to print and product inspection plan (PIP).
Use check fixtures to verify that parts print as required.
Make small, mathematically calculated, angle corrections.
Orient parts correctly.
Pick tooling, as identified in the CNC program, from the tooling inventory.
Load tooling in the order identified in the CNC program.
Gather required documents (process photos, process inspection plans, job traveler, print, and work in process parts) to run the job successfully.
Read the print fully to understand tolerances, geometry, material thickness, and special instructions.
Wear proper protective equipment as directed by equipment or process.
Understand safety requirements in every area and comply.
Participate in continuous improvement projects as requested.
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual department maintenance as assigned.
Follow press brake process standard operating procedures.
Enter quantities and inspection results into the computer accurately.
Qualifications and Competencies To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to read a blueprint, calculate negative and positive adjustments, and understand basic geometry concepts. They must possess basic computer skills including:
Desktop or workstation computer
Manufacturing software and programs
Education
Knowledge of metal types and thicknesses
Blueprint reading – ability to read and interpret blueprints
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Press Brake, CNC or Machining Certification (preferred)
Experience Minimum 2 year Press Brake experience is required to be considered for this Experienced Press Brake Operator role.
