Purpose of the Role
Responsible for weighing inbound & outbound deliveries of recyclable materials. May be cross‑trained on a Cashier position depending on the volume of customers and size of the yard.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for the accuracy of all weightings.
Enter the correct codes for received materials.
Maintain orderly purchasing and sales tickets.
Responsible for end‑of‑day reports.
Accurately count cash and pay customers.
Perform other duties as requested.
Experience Required
Previous experience in weigh or scale operations preferred.
Basic Math and Computer Skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) required.
Skills
Cash handling experience required.
Organized and detail oriented.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Required to follow SIMS Metal Management and OSHA safety regulations.
Willingness to continue to learn and grow with the company.
Overtime may be required.
