Sterile Processing Tech II – Part Time Day Shift
Base pay range: $22.00/hr – $28.60/hr.
Additional information about the role: Great opportunity in South County! We are looking to add a Sterile Processing Tech II to our day shift team.
Days
0900-1730 (some flexibility)
No weekends, no holidays, no call
Monday and Friday are busiest days
Overview Barnes‑Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Center for Advanced Medicine – South County is a new outpatient facility under construction in South St. Louis County, scheduled to open in late spring 2016 near the Siteman Cancer Center at I-55 and Butler Hill Rd. The building will include outpatient surgery, imaging, lab, therapy, and physician subspecialty offices.
Role Purpose Function as a team member in the operating room to support medical and nursing staff during the pre, intra, and post‑operative phase, including preparing equipment and supplies for use by the medical team, cleaning and sterilizing equipment and reusable supplies, assembling case carts/trays and performing direct patient care as needed.
Responsibilities
Assemble and process instrument sets, trays, supplies, and linen; prioritize trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
Utilize and troubleshoot steam sterilizers.
Follow proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
Disassemble, decontaminate, and process instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.
Transport patients with any necessary materials and documents to treat or diagnose.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: No experience required.
Licenses & Certifications: Cert/Lic in area of expertise (if applicable).
Preferred Requirements
2-5 years of related experience.
