Job Title Service Technician

Location Multiple positions located at or near our Northeast US Customer Center Locations – Marlborough, MA; Edison, NJ; Aston, PA; Scarborough, ME. This role is typically not eligible for relocation.

Schedule Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Range Starting Pay will range between $25.00 – $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full‑time, hourly position. $3,000 Sign‑On Bonus!

Job Overview The Field Service Technician serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating, as well as Centac and ECC air compressors and related compressed‑air components.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed‑air equipment.

Interact with customers to address equipment concerns and collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering parts.

Assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers.

Provide technical assistance on equipment pre‑commissioning, start‑ups, installations, and repairs.

Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products and services such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection.

Requirements

2+ years experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.

Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Service technicians required to be on‑call; not the first 90 days. On‑call weeks may occur as often as every 4 weeks or more.

Physical demands: regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling; lifting and moving weight limits per safety policy.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Core Competencies

Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.

Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).

Basic vibration troubleshooting.

Basic air‑quality troubleshooting (compressor/dryer, air treatment).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, handheld computers, and other basic computing.

Maintain cost‑efficient business travel practices.

Preferences

Industrial air compressor maintenance and knowledge.

EPA certification.

Veterans/Active‑Duty Military encouraged to apply.

Travel & Work Arrangements Daily travel within a 3‑hour radius within our service area. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
