Hourly Rate $30.23

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for fabrication welding, including manual, semi‑automatic, and automatic methods, as well as oxygen/acetylene gas torch cutting and pre‑heat.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Utilize knowledge of weld electrodes, wire, machine settings, and maintain quality standards.

Read and interpret drawings, sketches, weld symbols, and set up/operate semi‑automatic or automatic weld equipment.

Assemble and tack parts as directed by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY None, but will assist supervisor to organize and direct crew as necessary.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Follow written and oral instructions for daily functions, safety rules, and regulations.

Communicate with and instruct team members on the project.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience and ability to perform essential functions and responsibilities.

Knowledge of burning, welding, and operation of production machines and cranes.

Knowledge of pipe welding of aluminum, stainless steel, and copper alloys.

Proficiency with all fabrication/welding equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum two years of welding/fabrication experience or participation in an apprenticeship program.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Capable of passing a 3G or 4G aluminum weld test on 3/8 plate to AWS D1.2 standards.

Consistently pass UT/RT/PT weld tests.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lift or carry 60 lbs.; lift a 4‑ft., 60‑lb. spool of wire and a welding machine.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.

Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding.

WORK ENVIRONMENT May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Protective equipment will be provided.

CITIZENSHIP U.S. citizenship required for this government contract position.
