Position Overview
Position Title: High way Maintainer - Sangamon Co - Springfield West Team
Department: Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
This position performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of roads, bridges, and other related structures and features.
Compensation Anticipated Starting Salary: $6,912 monthly; Full Range: $6,912 - $8,634 monthly

Essential Functions
Operate CDL Class A licensed vehicles.
Perform labor related to maintenance of roadways.
Assist in snow and ice control during adverse conditions.
Perform labor related to maintenance of roadside and right-of-way.
Carry out routine housekeeping duties at headquarters.
Remove and dispose of trash, dead animals, and debris along highways.
Maintain on‑job records.
Perform other duties as reasonably within the scope of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of four years of high school or equivalent education.
Possession of a Class “A” CDL with an appropriate endorsement (X or N) and no air‑brake restrictions.
One year of driving experience immediately preceding appointment, free of incidents that could result in suspension or revocation of the license.
Work Hours and Location Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
