Zeon Chemicals
Purpose
Emergency repair and maintenance of all plant mechanical equipment. Contribute to the upkeep and the uninterrupted operation of the Zeon Chemicals L.P. Louisville facility by applying mechanical skills as part of a preventative and emergency repair maintenance program.
Qualifications
Knowledge of pumps, compressors, motors, machinery (film wrappers, box maker, dryers, tank agitators, conveyors, etc.)
Work with supervision, craft and production, other maintenance craftsmen, production operators to trouble shoot and correct mechanical equipment problems in support of continuous production process in chemical plant environment.
Read and understand equipment manuals
Ability to Rig
Adheres to all plant safety and environmental standards and regulations
Flexible to work in a continuous operation, supporting the off-shift diagnosis and repair of mechanical failures
Performs all other duties as assigned
Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our facility's operation and ensures that customers' (both internal and external) needs are met. Adhere to the quality system.
Maintains adequate training for plant hazardous waste to potentially package hazardous waste, operate a satellite accumulation container, or transport a hazardous waste to a hazardous waste storage area.

Typical Essential Job Tasks
Perform various tasks associated with repair of mechanical equipment in the plant.
Follow safety procedures during maintenance activities around hazardous equipment in the plant.
Troubleshoot various production/maintenance problems and implement solutions.
Document maintenance activities through recording of data and other information on quality records and log-sheets.
Follow all safety and operating procedures as required - periodic review of electronically stored procedures and documentation of training is required in STP and/or Reliance systems.
Interface with supervisors and management via e-mail on various topics related to production.
Conduct 5S inspections and activities to maintain good housekeeping.
Investigate quality and productivity problems and implement solutions.
Support of plant operations by responding to off shift call-ins is desired for repair of mission critical plant equipment breakdowns.
Ability to machine parts as needed is a plus
Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position.
Education & Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Special Qualifications Proven mechanical aptitude, prior mechanic experience in an industrial atmosphere, familiarity with industrial rotating and power-driven equipment, ability to work hand tools, ability to use and apply precision measuring instruments for alignment and gauging. Requires reasoning, detailed work. Typical job responsibilities include ability to handle multiple priorities, perform critical thinking tasks including cause/effect analysis, crisis management and troubleshooting, follow work instructions and manufacturers repair and troubleshooting guides. Significant computer skills are required, including requirement to master plant databases used for various purposes in the workplace and email. Self-directed, computer-based training on updates to complex operating instructions is a job requirement.
Work Conditions Chemical Plant/Manufacturing environment. An extensive amount of time is spent on the floor in a manufacturing plant environment. Plant environment is a multi-acre site. Typical daily assignments are physically demanding, requiring balancing, standing, cleaning, reaching, visual discernment, crawling, climbing, twisting, turning, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, full respiratory function and lifting.
