Job Summary
The refrigeration technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment to supply maximum available uptime for production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest work environment possible. The refrigeration technician handles the ammonia/refrigeration systems, boilers, and water for the facility, and approaches work in a positive manner to perpetuate a “Creekstone Proud” culture through attitude and actions.
Essential Functions
Oversee the maintenance and repair of ammonia compressors, condensers, receivers, evaporators, pumps, water softeners, hot water heaters, filters, reservoirs, compressor turbines, motors, and auxiliary power sub‑station and main electric control panel boards.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of utility equipment (steam, water, air, and standby equipment) including temperature controls, thermostats, meters, and temperature and pressure recorders.
Responsible for continuous improvement of preventive and corrective maintenance policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
Perform HAZMAT team assignments as required and assist in the Emergency Response Program and plant evacuation.
Follow all rules and regulations of the Process Safety Management program.
Physically capable of performing job duties while wearing a respirator when required.
Stay up to date on required company trainings and may be required to travel for further education and training opportunities.
