We are seeking a

Drafter

to support the

Configuration & Data Management (C&DM)

organization, providing drafting, configuration control, and documentation support for range systems and subsystems. This role works closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and configuration integrity across all drawing sets and documentation.

Job Description

Serve as a Drafter within the Configuration & Data Management (C&DM) organization.

Work directly with engineering and technical staff to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.

Perform configuration audits related to hardware changes, verifying drawings and prints are accurate and reflect “as-built” conditions.

Conduct baseline audits of range systems and subsystems; coordinate updates to documentation and drawings as required.

Support Technical Writers by ensuring Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) updates are properly captured and documentation remains accurate.

Assign Configuration Item (CI) numbers to new hardware systems in accordance with established CI numbering processes.

Apply standard drafting, configuration, and documentation concepts with a high degree of accuracy.

Develop proficiency in drafting, writing, and configuration management practices and procedures utilized at RTS.

Exercise independent judgment and leadership in the execution of assigned duties.

Serve as the sole C&DM representative on-island when required, supporting additional departmental needs.

Perform other duties as assigned to support mission and program requirements.

Required Skills

Proficiency with

AutoCAD .

Working knowledge of

3D CAD software , preferably

SolidWorks , and

MS Visio .

Strong understanding of drawing tree processes, practices, and procedures.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.

Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to function effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Self-starter with a proactive, “can-do” approach and strong follow-through.

Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and process improvement capabilities.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.

Proficiency with

Microsoft Office

products.

Ability to manage multiple requests and coordinate concurrent tasks.

required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in

Drafting Technology

or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of

two (2) years of experience

as a Drafter in an engineering or technical environment.

Required Qualifications / Eligibility

Ability to

obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

(U.S. citizenship required).

Ability to

relocate to U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll (Roi-Namur), Marshall Islands .

Ability to obtain and maintain a

valid U.S. passport .

Physical ability to visually inspect detailed drawings at close range.

Ability to support

TDY travel to Huntsville, Alabama .

This is an

unaccompanied position .

Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends to support mission requirements.
