Job Summary Correctly scale/weigh the proper ingredients for the specified dough mixture that is scheduled for the shift or shifts. Maintain clean work area.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Check schedule to determine ingredients and amounts needed to be scaled.
Prepare scales for the weighting process.
Select specified ingredients for dough mixture.
Accurately weigh each ingredient for dough mixture.
Sift lumpy ingredients per specified formulas and instructions.
Place ingredients in designated bags.
Record shift, ingredients, initials on bag.
Record all lot numbers on bags.
Place ingredients on carts.
Communicate changes, instructions, etc. to the next shift scaler.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s).
Report foreign materials to supervisor immediately.
Required Competencies & Knowledge
Ability to reach with hands/arms throughout shift.
Use hands and fingers.
See, hear and communicate in English.
Lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
Work in light to moderate noise levels.
Walk up to 400 yards to work areas.
Stand eight hours per shift.
Repetitive reaching over head, under and across throughout shift.
Push/pull up to 2600 lbs. with assistance.
Crawl under equipment to reach work area.
Perform general housekeeping.
Climb steps to and from work areas.
Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
Skill In
Prefer high school graduate or G.E.D.
Basic math and reading skills.
Work with minimal supervision and independently.
Measure and read scales; understands units of measurement.
Recognize problems and take immediate action.
Ability To
Work in a fast‑paced environment in close proximity to others.
Distinguish colors.
Perform calculations in various units of measure.
Work in variable temperatures and weather conditions.
Repetitive bending, stooping and twisting throughout shift.
Work in wet, humid areas.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
Work Environment
Maintain harmonious working relations with employees from all departments.
Maintain harmonious working relations with management from all levels.
Communicate effectively with all employees and management.
Physical Requirements
Reach with hands/arms throughout the day.
Use hands and fingers.
See, hear and talk.
Stand, walk, climb, balance.
Work in light to moderate noise levels.
Occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart; lift up to 70 pounds of boxes/bags.
