Quality Control Technician

Position Objective Overall knowledge of Plastpro, Inc. products and accessories concerning specifications and methods of inspection. Inspect all components of the doors while in process and finished stages, making routing decisions on acceptance using standard procedures and instruments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform line audits.
Conduct 24‑hour drop area inspections.
Prepare written reports when necessary or as directed; check special orders and read blueprints to determine if specifications have been complied with.
Check the quality of finished products for shipment and returned goods for acceptance to stock.
Develop and maintain company inspection reports.
Inspect raw material or product according to quality and safety standards.
Ensure all raw materials and products comply with company standards.
Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
Report and record quality anomalies to the supervisor.
Collate test data and draft quality reports.
Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
Physical and Visual Requirements
Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles.
Ability to distinguish product identification and warning indicators.
Ability to recognize differences in warning alarm and operational indicators.
Use tools required for quality control verification.
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling capabilities to inspect pipe.
Balance to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching.
Verbal communication with fellow employees, face-to-face or telephone.
Understand verbal communication, face-to-face or telephone.
Understand written communication.
Confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products to determine acceptance or denial.
Climb and descend all ladders or steps, fixed or portable, on company facilities to inspect pipe and raw materials.
Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 30 feet.
Push or pull up to 2,500 pounds up to 30 feet with the aid of material handling equipment.
Walk through, under and around equipment with a clearance of 30 inches.
Grasp tools, manual and powered, and use them safely to avoid injury.
Operate machinery and power or hand tools at arm’s length.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience as an inspection or quality technician.
Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
High visual awareness.
Advanced organizational skills.
Experience drafting reports and collating data.
Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
