Our senior apprentices play a critical role in supporting project delivery and preparing to become licensed journeymen.

Position Summary The 4th Year Electrical Apprentice operates at an advanced, near-journeyman level, performing high-skill electrical installations and supporting crew leadership. This role includes advanced troubleshooting, system commissioning, and preparation for the Michigan Journeyman Electrician Exam.

Key Responsibilities

Install, modify, and repair complex commercial electrical systems with minimal supervision.

Lead small task crews of lower-year apprentices, ensuring workmanship quality and safety compliance.

Perform advanced diagnostics, system testing and commissioning support.

Complete equipment installations, terminations, and final trim‑out tasks to Engineered Electrical Systems standards.

Ensure all work adheres to NEC, Michigan Electrical Code, and project requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation of hours and training needed to qualify for the journeyman exam.

Qualifications

Completion of 3rd-year apprenticeship requirements and RTI coursework.

High proficiency with tools, testing equipment, and commercial electrical systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Eligibility to test for the Michigan Journeyman Electrician License upon hour completion.

On‑the‑job learning experience hours: 6000–8000 hours
