Responsibilities This machinist role is responsible for operating and maintaining the CNC equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company. The position works with fabrication, assembly, material handling, and the machine shop as well as planning and engineering departments.

Charged with identifying safety hazards and suggesting corrective actions.

Set‑up and operate toolroom equipment (e.g., lathe, mill, broach, grinders, etc.) according to job specifications.

Review job orders, bring the required material into the shop from the warehouse.

Operate multi‑head CNC‑controlled machines.

Fabricate parts to blueprint specification using appropriate machine(s) and processes (e.g., Strippit, Whitney, Cincinnati Press Brake, Koike Torch).

Operate general fabrication equipment (e.g., Mubea, Carlton Radial Arm Drill, Roller).

Operate overhead crane safely in accordance with company safety protocols.

Organize paperwork to ensure jobs are completed as per company standards.

Work with the CNC programmer to maximize plate usage for the highest efficiency.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly) in the workstation/work area.

Operate forklift to move completed job orders to other departments when required.

Liaise with fabrication, assembly, material handlers, and the machine shop as well as planning and engineering departments.

Log in and scan job orders into a computer system when required.

Assist with 5S organization & cleaning initiatives: lean manufacturing, productivity improvements, and maintaining key metrics.

Adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices and report any potential hazards to supervisor.

Attend meetings and training as required.

Perform other duties assigned that fall within the employee's capabilities.

Experience and Requirements You're a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. You're creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we always deliver top‑notch customer experiences. You also have:

High School diploma or GED required.

2+ years in heavy equipment/manufacturing environment preferred, with experience using CNC machines preferred.

Experience driving forklift and overhead crane required (training will be provided if needed).

Basic computer skills required, and good organizational, prioritizing, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork, take initiative, and work in a fast‑paced environment dealing with ad‑hoc issues.

Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail required.
