Rolling Stock Mechanic

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for an hourly Mobile Equipment Mechanic position to join our team at Zwolle EWP Plant located in Zwolle, LA. This facility's primary products are Microlam Veneer, plywood, and finished 4x4 lumber. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, great communication skills, and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. The hourly wage for this role is $30 per hour. Key Functions: Efficiently and effectively perform diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on manufacturing rolling stock, including forklifts, Heavy Equipment for Log Handling (Caterpillar Experience a big plus) mobile crane, aerial lift, and fleet vehicles Effectively interface with operators to quickly detect, diagnose/troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures on a variety of makes and models of rolling stock utilizing a variety of devices including an electrical technician diagnostic system Maximize equipment uptime by pre-ordering parts, scheduling maintenance and total system coordination with leads & supervisors, track/capture warranty issues, communicate well with a variety of vendors via phone/email Implement and continuously improve Predictive Maintenance Program for individual machines Train operators to identify and prevent potential problems Industrial or Diesel Mechanic experience Must be available to work 12 hours on dayshift or swing shift and fill in during press down days Must be eligible to work in the United States Must attach a resume to the application Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions Must wear all safety equipment and obey all safety rules Participate in safety initiatives, including exhibiting safe work practices and helping others work safely Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mobile equipment, including hydraulic and electronic systems Willingness to train operators to identify and prevent potential problems Ability to weld and fabricate material on equipment Be able to perform labor-intensive work Be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds safely, climb steps and ladders, and stand or work up to 3 hours at a time for 12-hour shifts Ability to work well with people Excellent communication skills Organizational skills Ability to prioritize work Basic computer skills (SAP experience) Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical Preferred Qualifications: CDL certification (preferred) 2-year degree in Diesel Technology or related field (preferred)(Caterpillar Experience a Plus) At least 3 years of Industrial or Diesel Mechanic experience About Wood Products We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
