Position Overview Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for General Machinists to join our Fabrication team. You will perform precise machining operations, interpret technical documents, and maintain machine performance while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Position Responsibilities
Work with and interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, and handbook formulas; use shop mathematics including trigonometry and geometry.
Perform layout work necessary to accomplish own work assignment.
Perform assembly work and surface finishing as required.
Use and operate precision measuring instruments and methods to complete and check work; provide part quality information and statistics.
Select proper tools, fixtures, machine attachments, equipment, etc., to complete work assignments.
Prepare and adjust equipment to ensure proper machine operation.
Monitor machining system operations, including diagnostics and cutter, probe, and sensor data; make adjustments as necessary.
May include programming and operation of NC and CNC machines.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards
Lifting weights ranging from 10–15 lbs to 15–35 lbs.
Reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments with contact to metals, solvents, coolants, moving parts, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Use personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
Export Control Compliance This position requires compliance with Export Control regulations, requiring a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
2+ years of experience using basic math.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8-hour shift.
2+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications.
2+ years of experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
2+ years of experience setting up and operating Manual and/or CNC machines.
2+ years of experience in a role that required strong attention to detail.
2+ years of experience using CAD/CAM software.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of CAD/CAM programming experience (e.g., using an offline programming system such as UniGraphics, CATIA, MasterCam).
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Typical Education High school graduate or GED preferred.

Total Rewards & Pay Transparency Base pay: $33.32 per hour, potential to earn up to $61.01 per hour according to the collective bargaining agreement. Boeing offers health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away programs. Eligibility varies by location, date of hire, and collective bargaining agreements.
