WCS Industries in North Branch, Minnesota, is looking for experienced Maintenance Mechanic/Machinist for our 1st shift to be part of our growing company. Experience working in 6S environment essential. Ability to lift 50 lbs. required.
Maintenance Mechanic/Machinist Repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities. Requires a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, tool making, machine rebuilding, electrical circuits, welding, carpentry and fabrication. Responsible for responding to down equipment situations to fix machines and get them running so that production can satisfy customers by providing products that meet the specifications and delivery requirements.
Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
Must be flexible to stop working on a project when production equipment goes down and needs to be fixed.
Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions and operating difficulties both mechanically and electrically. Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics reading the schematics.
Make or purchase components and make repairs to keep production equipment operating.
Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments involving dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts.
Perform activities related to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment, including dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
Ensure maintenance on WCS’s buildings, facilities, and grounds is performed.
Work with outside contractors on repairs of the facility.
Perform preventive maintenance on defined pieces of equipment such as washers, air compressors, etc.
Contact OEM and replacement parts distributors to obtain required parts.
Contact sources with applicable knowledge to assess, recommend, and resolve machinery‑related issues.
Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
Perform routine housekeeping activities in the Maintenance Department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and 5S cleanliness standards.
Identify and assist in leading the implementation of Continuous Improvement.
Proficient at sketching and making more complex tooling/gauges using manual mills and lathes.
Repair and make tooling for machines and production.
Can use ohm meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
Can operate maintenance machining equipment such as manual mills and lathes, cut‑off saw, surface grinders, band saw, drill press, etc.
Make components on maintenance equipment to repair facility equipment, as necessary.
Able to make threads on a lathe, a plus.
