Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Overview We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support large commercial construction projects for a general contractor or developer. This role is ideal for candidates with 2–5 years of experience who have exposure to project management tools and a strong understanding of construction documentation and workflows.
Key Requirements
2–5 years of experience in commercial construction
Experience supporting large projects for a GC or developer
Familiarity with project plans, drawings, and construction documents
Exposure to project management and construction software
Strong communication and organizational skills
What We’re Looking For
1–4 years in construction as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, or similar role
Strong understanding of scheduling, document control, and construction fundamentals
Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with teams
Proficiency in tools such as
Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project , or similar platforms
Experience supporting
$10M+ commercial projects
preferred
Exposure to multi-site or national project portfolios is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in
Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture , or equivalent experience preferred
Position Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution
Support project leadership through all phases of the project lifecycle
Coordinate communication with Engineering, VDC, Procurement, Prefabrication, Field Operations, and Safety teams
Track schedules, budgets, RFIs, change orders, and overall project progress
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, and deliveries
Maintain project documentation such as plans, scopes of work, meeting minutes, logs, and status reports
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as a liaison between project leadership, internal teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and external partners
Participate in project meetings and communicate updates on progress, risks, and key decisions
Ensure alignment with company standards, quality expectations, and established processes
Assist in identifying risks, schedule delays, and resource challenges
Support field teams with compliance and safety requirements
Help manage quality control, punch lists, field documentation, and project turnover
Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and invoice verification
Maintain accurate project records, logs, and contract documentation
Support cost control and value-engineering initiatives
