Machine Operator - 1st Shift (Filling)

Location: Salem, VA
Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (first shift)
Pay: $18 – $20 per hour Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities
Monitor bottle indexing on conveyor systems throughout the filling process
Document all quality‑related items (hourly production board updates, component verification, bottle and label visual inspection, date‑code labeling correctness, product verification, weight checks on filled bottles)
Communicate machine problems and quality requirements clearly
Start and stop equipment and identify basic mechanical issues; adjust machine setups for fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, case erectors, and palletizers
Follow all safety requirements, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, and hand protection
Support changeover requirements for commodity products (changing caps, line clearance, assisting mechanics)
Make tank switches and execute the valve change process
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
At least 6 months of manufacturing experience
Ability to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required
Basic math skills
Physical ability to lift 40 pounds periodically and meet shift requirements (lifting, bending, standing, reaching with both hands/arms, visual inspection)
Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities
