Overview
CT (CAT SCAN) Technologist - 12 hrs Nights Base pay range: $47.00/hr - $63.26/hr When you join the growing BILH team, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This position independently performs Computerized Tomography (CT) examinations meeting ACR imaging standards and maintaining safety standards using state-of-the-art CT scanners, power injectors, PACS, and other related medical imaging equipment. The professional technologist position will impact quality, safety and patient experience.
Job Functions
Greets, escorts, assesses, educates and identifies patients, ensuring safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
Completes CT examinations following established exam protocols established by CT Radiologist.
Administers contrast intravenously, assesses IV site and operates IV contrast injector.
Enters examinations correctly, ensuring accurate and informative documentation and appropriate charges.
Electronically sends and stores images and data appropriately in PACS.
Maintains all department records and logs to monitor quality and safety in accordance with departmental policies.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment, fostering a culture of safety.
Responds to supply and equipment issues timely to ensure optimum operations and long-term equipment maintenance.
Transports and provides ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patient experience.
Communicates effectively with the healthcare team using established handoff procedures and constructive feedback.
Minimizes preventable harm events and adheres to infection control protocols and culture of safety practices.
Coordinates work schedule with the departmental supervisor and Radiology Manager to maintain adequate staffing.
Qualifications
Education: Required — Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
Preferred — Advanced education in CAT scan technology
Experience: Required — One year diagnostic technology
Preferred — One year of CT
Other Skills/Knowledge: Required — Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients and staff
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications
ARRT registered in Radiology and CT
Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT
LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Basic Life Support

Other Job Requirements
On-call: Rotation required to cover the hospital location
Schedule requirements: Regular rotation through days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
Travel requirements: May be scheduled at any of the CT locations
Reporting Relationships: Reports to CT Supervisor; not responsible for supervising others

Pay Information The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and applicable laws. Compensation may exceed the base rate due to shift differentials, call pay, overtime, and other practices.
