Machinist Assistant Position Summary We are looking for a Machinist Assistant/Kitter to join our Orthopaedics Department. The Kitter will assemble tool boxes for the manufacturing floor according to kitting procedures. Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability are essential, as the role involves coordinating with the tool crib, management, and floor machinists to maintain continuous workflow.
1st shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:00 pm
Responsibilities
Assemble tooling boxes and all paperwork for jobs running on the manufacturing floor.
Manage the kitting process: part programs, set‑up sheets, records, and inventory.
Update documentation throughout the process—including before, during, and after the job is completed.
Inspect tools, new and returned, using a microscope and other inspection equipment.
Maintain inventory of tools and resolve shortage issues and discrepancies.
Maintain daily logs and reports necessary for the kitting procedure.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Qualifications
Understand the operations and tooling applications of CNC machines.
Prior knowledge of cutting tools.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Education
High School Diploma.
One year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
