Job Description A Machine Operator will effectively run multiple EDM and multi‑axis machines on a continuous basis, identify problems during production, position workpieces, and inspect parts daily using various inspection equipment.
Job Function Perform required operations on EDM/multi‑axis machines, including:
Loading and unloading parts
Part inspection, electrode preparation, and tool changing
Cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor adjustments of equipment
Documenting machine operation and daily production in logs and records
Escorting and transporting parts to appropriate locations
Maintaining safe, clean, and orderly work areas
Reviewing and referring to records such as travelers, SOPs, shift reports, and safety sheets
Preparing labor sheets and non‑conformance forms
Operating wire machines, grinders, micrometers, gauges, various power tools, and computers
Performing related duties as required
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and switch jobs as required
Complete tasks efficiently within standard time allotments
Track materials in the area
Perform minor maintenance of machines
Maintain an excellent attendance record
Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler
Track all scrap and seek corrective actions when necessary
Run and maintain the function of 2+ machines in a manufacturing cell
Maintain all inspection gauges and tooling as required
Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
Function effectively within a team environment
Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
Requirements
High ability and understanding in machining
High School Diploma or equivalent (documentation required)
Must meet ITAR definition of US Person (documentation required)
Clear verbal and written communication in English
Ability to run parts to specification on multiple machines daily
Read simple part drawings
Use micrometers and dial calipers accurately after company training
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics after training
Follow verbal and written instructions in English
Perform any other task as deemed necessary by the company
Pre‑employment testing required due to safety‑sensitive manufacturing
Preferable Experience
Experience in conventional machining such as milling, drilling, and turning
Previous relevant machining experience or education/training in machining
Physical Demands / Work Environment The employee must stand, use hands and arms, communicate, and move throughout the facility. Up to 35 pounds may be lifted or moved. Vision requirements include close vision and depth perception. The noise level may be loud. Personal Protective Equipment is required.
