Trailer Technician/Mechanic

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading fleet maintenance company in the U.S., is hiring an experienced Trailer Technician/Mechanic in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining Class 7‑8 trailers and operating vehicles to ensure all systems function properly.
Compensation Competitive hourly pay, $27–$34 per hour (DOE), paid weekly every Friday.
Shift: Sunday to Wednesday; 6:00 am‑4:30 pm, 4×10 hours.

Responsibilities
Prepare vehicle records and report manually and on computer
Perform safety inspections of equipment and produce required documentation
Inspect and work on under parts of vehicles
Access all areas of equipment or vehicle for maintenance
Move parts to/from job site; remove/install components
Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required
Ideal Candidate
Minimum 2 years experience in vehicle and trailer maintenance
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
Capable of entering/exiting driver compartment and behind cab with appropriate footholds and handholds
Provide own hand tools
Perform DOT inspections
Basic computer skills
Basic written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
Exposure to heavy traffic while performing duties
Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise
Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
Ability to move and position heavy objects
Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl to repair vehicles
Work outside in varying weather conditions
