Position Summary This team member will serve as a laborer and perform various skilled manual labor tasks such as installing, replacing, repairing, and maintaining water and sewer lines and appurtenances.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, replacement, maintenance, and repair of utility lines.
Ensure safe use and operation and preventative maintenance of common automotive and mechanical equipment.
Operate assigned equipment with skill and safety.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
Keep simple records.
Develop and maintain relationships with peers across departments.
Multi-task to organize and prioritize a changing work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
Work subject to on-call and call-back work.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED plus one (1) or more years of experience in utility maintenance and/or construction OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Valid Texas Driver's License.
