Job Description Summary This position is responsible for advanced and specialized boiler operations and maintenance necessary to ensure effective facilities operations within a healthcare environment. Responsibilities include boiler preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and facility/equipment inspection. This position also supports other facilities associates, projects, and activities based on organizational needs.
Responsibilities And Duties
Oversee & monitor the site Utility plant systems and adjust and/or repair as necessary.
Perform maintenance and repairs of systems including boilers, water testing, heat exchangers, RO & soft water systems, chilled water systems, hot water heaters, pumps, valves, single and three phase motors, air compressors, bearings, seals, filters, and all associated equipment.
Be available to work different shifts as needed to maintain site utility requirements.
Analyze the operation of various systems, determine root cause of failures, and take corrective action.
Perform preventive maintenance on all Utility Plant equipment.
Maintain tools, order, and track inventory for repairs.
Maintain logs, document equipment repairs, adhere to daily work plan, track time, and communicate daily with the Operations Manager and Lead Engineer.
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Interact and communicate repair status to management.
Work across trades to provide support as required.
May be required to work overtime as needed and/or flex schedule to meet business needs.
Be the sole operator on shift.
Minimum Qualifications High School or GED (Required); Driver's License (DL) – Department of Motor Vehicles.
Specialized Knowledge Demonstrated competency in safe and efficient operation of high-pressure steam boilers through experience and state licensing requirements. In‑depth understanding of steam systems and associated equipment. Feed water treatment and testing protocols. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Experience in electronics and controls automation system operation and troubleshooting.
