The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $20; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience between $20 and $25.
SHIFT SCHEDULES AVAILABLE Flexible shift schedules include 12 hour and 8 hour shifts!
2-2-3, 12 hour schedule on days (6:00AM-6:00PM) or nights (6:00PM-6:00AM). Must be available to work weekends and Holidays.
8 hour shifts include 2nd shift (2:00PM-10:00PM) and 3rd shift (10:00PM-6:00AM).
JOB OVERVIEW The Set‑Up Operator is responsible for set‑up, start‑up and operating of converting machines.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS A SET‑UP OPERATOR
Set‑up and operate machine to meet product requirements
Troubleshoot equipment and product issues
Perform and document quality checks and testing
Keep area clean and equipment in good working order
Conduct trial runs, monitor machine workflow and pack finished goods for shipping
Be proactive with repairs to minor mechanical machine issues
Assist in preventative maintenance of all machines and auxiliary equipment
Assist with all Inspector Operator functions including product inspection, packaging of product, area clean up, quality testing requirements, operating machine through break times, and short restroom breaks, etc. (Should be capable of backing up all operator responsibilities)
Communicate within the group to insure Maintenance and Operators are kept up to date with what occurred during the shift and possible fixes.
Must be able to anticipate things that will come up after shift change and communicate all shift activities verbally and through documenting in shift logs
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Experience in manufacturing and machine operation preferred but not required
Technical and mechanical knowledge of bag/pouch machines, preferred but not required
Pouch/Bag making and film handling fundamentals, preferred but not required
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Mechanical aptitude
Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential
Demonstrates organizational skills
Knowledge of one or more, Extrusion, Printing, Slitting, Lamination or Converting Processes
Read dimensional graphic templates in both metric/standard and apply to finished product
Basic computer skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
Standing up to 12 hours per day on a rotating day or evening shift, up to 5 days/week
Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbs
Alert state of mind to avoid safety hazards
Able to read/see up to 1/32 of an inch
