The Electrical and Controls Technician performs technical duties in the maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, sewer pump stations, groundwater wells, and elevated storage tanks.

Responsibilities

Maintains and monitors electrical and electronic equipment.

Inspects motors, pumps, and other equipment and makes repairs as needed.

Performs electrical system repair and replacement on wastewater equipment.

Repairs and replaces electrical components at wells and lift stations.

Performs preventive maintenance on meters, gas monitoring equipment, sampling devices, and process control equipment.

Pulls and unclogs clogged motors.

Assists in the repair and maintenance of sewer pump station and water well equipment.

Ensures the functionality of the ultraviolet systems; performs daily inspections and bi-monthly cleaning.

Responds to after-hours emergencies when on call.

Calibrates, maintains, and monitors flow meters.

Makes procurement card purchases of parts and supplies as needed; maintains inventory of parts and supplies.

Communicates with sales persons and technical service support personnel to resolve problems.

Maintains related files and records.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

At least one (1) year of experience in a related field.

Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.

Valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
