About This Role A Manufacturing Senior Outfitter is responsible for overseeing and executing outfitting tasks, such as equipment installation and testing, within a production environment. This position requires strong leadership, inventory control, and the ability to train junior employees. Key responsibilities include guiding teams, ensuring adherence to procedures, managing materials, and performing hands‑on outfitting duties.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Assembly and Installation: Performing complex outfitting duties such as installing electrical wiring, interior/exterior components (seats, bumpers, ballistic glass, etc.) and other systems, according to detailed instructions and procedures.
Equipment Operation: Operating various machinery, hand tools such as wrenches, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Leading the setup, testing, and repairs of critical systems or electrical systems in vehicles. Ensuring all modifications and installations meet the requirements of the work plans.
Documentation and Compliance: Accurately completing production documentation and strictly following Standard Work Plans, Safety Guidelines, and regular quality checks to ensure product integrity and conformance to work instructions.
Performing Work: Interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing documents, written and verbal instructions. Reading from computer screens to retrieve work instructions, standard work or other documents, and performing related duties as assigned by management.
Safety Awareness: Maintaining a high‑level awareness and adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.
Training: Training new or current employees on work procedures and processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of prior manufacturing or production experience, with specific experience in assembly or outfitting in a relevant industry (e.g., marine or automotive).
Technical Aptitude: Ability to perform basic math, read computer operations, and interpret work instructions, shop orders, sketches, and drawings. Perform basic troubleshooting techniques on equipment for repair and serviceability. Familiarity with industry‑specific software and tools.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and use manual dexterity and coordination.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring product quality and accurate assembly.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and adaptability. Ability to work independently and make decisions based on expertise.
Work Schedule: Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task.
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Note: Level will be determined based on relevant experience, scope of role, skills, etc.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED certificate.
