provides customized waste processing solutions. The Repair Field Welder will perform various barge repairs and welding, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and USCG standards.
Job Summary The Repair Field Welder performs welding duties on barges, ensuring safety and compliance while supervising teammates and maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities
Perform safe welding and fabrication of barge inserts, cracks, and critical components such as tank shells, drafts, and attachments.
Set up and operate welding machinery for all positions.
Inspect welds for bead size and other specifications; clean, degrease, and prepare weld joints.
Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes; groove or scarf surfaces as necessary.
Supervise and assist in directing employees, training subordinates, and ensuring workflow efficiency.
Adhere to USCG regulations, customer requirements, and VLS standards; maintain safety compliance.
Travel to all marine locations as required.
Qualifications
Qualified welder per VLS welding procedures.
Ability to set welding machines for proper use and weld in all positions.
Experience with barge repair, critical jobs, and USCG regulations.
Strong safety mindset, enforcing safety rules throughout the shop.
Good leadership and communication skills for supervising and training staff.
