Keep a Century of Making Moving Step into a night where your craft keeps an entire plant humming at peak efficiency. As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic on our team, you’ll maintain production and facilities equipment so it runs at design throughput—safely, reliably, and on time.

A day in the life You begin with a safety check and lockout/tagout, then dive into a preventive maintenance task on an extruder gearbox. A call comes in: a blower is down, and line throughput is at risk. You trace the fault, swap a contactor, verify operation with your meter, and capture the work in our documentation. Before shift-end, you fabricate a small bracket, review drawings for a shutdown project, and tidy the shop—ready for the next challenge.

What you’ll do

Install, service, and repair plant production and facilities equipment with minimal supervision.

Work safely at all times, rigorously following LOTO and plant safety protocols.

Troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical systems: pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, extruders, and related support equipment.

Diagnose and repair electrical components: circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, solenoids, safety switches, transducers, electro‑mechanical relays, solid‑state relays, and electrical heating systems.

Perform minor welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.

Execute PMs, complete accurate work order documentation, and support facilities systems.

Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to plan work effectively.

Operate shop tools and meters, as well as forklift and scissor lift, safely and proficiently.

Plan and organize daily tasks, projects, and plant shutdown work to meet timelines.

Maintain strong housekeeping across the plant and maintenance shop.

Nearly a century later—through expansion and acquisitions—we operate nine U.S. locations and facilities in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. Still privately held and led by Fain’s grandson, we prioritize long‑term relationships with our employees and customers to deliver custom compound solutions worldwide.

“Manufacturing is a team sport, and we work together to achieve our goals.” — Jon Fain
