ITW Shakeproof, a division of Illinois Tool Works, serves all the major automotive OEMs and their tier suppliers with cold headed fasteners totaling approximately $250M in revenues.
The division consists of facilities in: Elgin, Illinois; Broadview, Illinois; Machesney Park, Illinois; Troy, Michigan; Watertown, Wisconsin; Iron Ridge, Wisconsin; Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
Operate multiple machines to sort product meeting customer requirements.
Ensure product is free of mixtures and defects.
Start machine and perform daily checks to detect malfunctions; report malfunction to supervisor.
Perform daily preventive maintenance and simple setups to ensure good operation of machines.
Perform red rabbits (Camera Verification) after each machine changeover.
Label finished goods.
Prepare product to ship free of mixtures and product defects.
Weigh and check finished goods.
Maintain a safe, clean/sanitized, and organized work environment.
Comply with all company procedures, policies, and work instructions.
Assist in making improvements to overall business using ITW operating principles.
Qualifications The individual must have the appropriate tools to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and maintain the required tools.
Education and Experience High school education or GED. Manufacturing experience or training a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Compute rate, ratio and percentage and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift Certification required.
Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and manipulate hands, wrist and fingers to grasp tools and parts, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and usually encounters loud noise levels.
Compensation $21.80 per hour
