Mechanic II

This position requires greater independence than Mechanic I and the ability to handle a wider range of repairs with minimal supervision. The Mechanic II also assists in training junior mechanics and ensuring that all work meets company, DOT, and OSHA standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and system inspections. * Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues. * Replace or repair defective parts such as brakes, clutches, hydraulic hoses, cylinders, bearings, and belts. * Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. * Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify problems and recommend solutions. * Perform minor welding, cutting, and fabrication when needed. * Assist in overhauls of major components such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems under guidance from senior mechanics. * Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records for all serviced equipment. * Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas. * Follow all company safety policies and procedures and correct unsafe practices immediately. * Provide guidance and support to Mechanic I personnel and assist in their development.
