Base pay range $22.95/hr - $27.00/hr

Job Title: Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1

Location: Winsted, MN

Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm, 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am, Weekend shift Friday - Sunday 5am - 5pm

Shift Differential: 1st shift - N/A, 2nd shift $1.50/hr, Weekend shift - $2.50/hr

Responsibilities

Fuse (weld) metal pole shafts together by means of Submerged Arc Welding process in the fabrication of steel poles

Perform welding operations requiring most of the following: working from prints and drawings or other specifications, knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals, setting up work and determining operation sequences

Welding objects involving critical safety and load requirements

Setup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment

Make mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery

Use hand tools and measuring devices in the performance of work

Move pole shafts using an overhead crane

Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence

Enter job data in production tracking system

Must be AWS SAW certified within 90 days

Weld quality from this operator consistently pass NDT examination

Escalate equipment or quality issues

Qualifications

Experience with welding

Successful completion of AWS certified SAW within 90 days

Prefer graduation from an accredited trade school for welding

Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork in English

Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols

Working knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)

Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals

Ability to perform basic shop math functions

Ability to set up work and determine operation sequence

Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues

Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people
