Mechanical Technician – Energy Storage We are representing an innovative energy storage company developing cutting‑edge electro‑mechanical systems that will help enable a more efficient, sustainable energy future. They are now seeking a practical, hands‑on Mechanical Technician to join their engineering team and support the design, assembly and refinement of prototype and production systems. About the Role This is a highly practical, workshop‑based role where you’ll be working closely with Mechanical Engineers to assemble mechanical systems, machine parts, and support the development of prototypes and production builds. Most components will be manufactured by external suppliers — however, you’ll be responsible for making small modifications, creating one‑off parts, and ensuring everything fits and functions correctly on build. You’ll also have exposure to mechanical design workflows, using CAD models and occasionally using our 3D printing capabilities to fabricate test parts or fixtures. Key Responsibilities Hands‑on mechanical assembly of system components and sub‑assemblies. Use workshop machining and tooling equipment to modify or create small parts as required. Work with metal alloys, plastics, PVC, and various engineered materials. Use CAD drawings and models to support builds and dimensional adjustments. Support the fabrication of prototype parts including 3D printed components. Collaborate with mechanical engineers on structural, thermal and HVAC‑related elements of the build. Maintain a proactive, organised workshop environment. Assist with materials handling, test support and documentation. What We’re Looking For Strong hands‑on mechanical workshop or technician experience. Practical experience in machining, fabrication, or mechanical assembly. Comfortable working from technical drawings/CAD output. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods. Ability to think ahead, problem solve and suggest practical improvements. Team‑oriented, proactive and comfortable in a lab/workshop environment. Experience with HVAC or thermal systems. Exposure to CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, etc.). Experience in prototyping or R&D environments. Seniority level
