Job Description As a Discovery Paralegal, you will support attorneys in all aspects of the discovery process for personal injury and wrongful death cases. Your role includes client communication, documentation, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Work with clients to obtain information and draft discovery responses with organized exhibits.
Submit responses to the handling attorney at least 48 hours prior to a deadline and implement attorney feedback.
Stamp documents with Bates numbering.
Prepare and serve supplemental or specialized discovery when needed.
Print and save faxes to the appropriate folder on the server.
Provide a “lit concierge” service, updating clients and providers on case status.
Coordinate with other staff to secure all medical records and bills before preparing discovery responses.
Supplement and amend discovery responses when new medical bills or records become available.
Follow up with clients regarding settlement releases and coordinate with counsel to finalize them.
Draft requests for dismissal, coordinate deposit of settlement checks as received, request settlement checks, review settled cases, and send cases to liens.
Run monthly team reports for the team meeting.
When submitted out, prepare and send file and lien to a new attorney after review by the handling attorney.
Arrange transportation (Uber/ride‑share) for clients when needed.
Prepare discovery and mediation binders.
Assist with deposition preparation by compiling necessary documentation for the handling attorney.
Understand calendaring and fill in for other staff as necessary.
Prepare documents for filing with the Court as needed.
Order DMV records, background checks, and ISOs.
Coordinate with outside investigators to obtain additional information under attorney supervision.
Access social media, the internet, and Google Maps to download and save materials for the file.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum: 2 years of litigation experience.
