Legal Assistant/Paralegal, Newark, DE
Agility 360 is searching for a Legal Assistant for a direct hire position with our law client located in Newark, DE. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth running of the office and utilize effective case management skills. The ideal candidate will have previous default servicing experience and must be self-motivated. This is a full-time, on-site position so reliable transportation is a must.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with case preparation and management
Review documents for pertinent information pertaining to files
Create, open, and maintain files
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
Draft Summons & Complaints, Defaults, Judgments and Writs
File / E-File pleadings with the Court
Prepare ePraecipe for scheduled Court hearings
Schedule Court hearings with the Court
Review daily incoming mail
Work files throughout the Litigation Process (inception of suit to conclusion)
Organize and maintain legal files and documents
Manage legal case calendars and deadlines
Communicate professionally with clients and Court personnel
Communicate professionally with Process Servers and Court Officers
Utilize software for document management
Qualifications
1 - 3 years of Paralegal experience
Proven experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department
Proficiency in Legal case management and Legal administrative tasks
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Experience preparing and filing replevin actions, including drafting pleadings, coordinating service, and managing case timelines
Able to multitask and meet daily deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with Legal research methods and resources
Ability to draft legal documents accurately
Ability to efficiently manage a large caseload
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Knowledge of legal software
Excellent phone etiquette
