Overview Perkins Coie’s nationally recognized Trademark, Copyright, Internet & Advertising practice is seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join its offices. This position will assist lawyers in the clearance and prosecution of U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright matters, including searches, enforcement, and due diligence. In addition, as a member of the Perkins Coie professional support staff team, this position is responsible for promoting and maintaining the goodwill and reputation of the firm. In this capacity, the Paralegal is expected to maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain electronic records.

Draft reporting correspondence to client for attorney review.

Draft U.S. trademark prosecution documents for attorney review and comments.

Continue training on USPTO rules and procedures as they relate to trademark prosecution.

Train on conducting U.S. and international trademarks, copyrights, and domain searches as well as any additional training deemed necessary.

Perform computer database input and retrieval.

Maintain positive contact with co-workers and observe confidentiality of client matters.

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed, consistent with the firm’s attendance expectations.

Maintain accurate and timely daily time entry in accordance with the firm’s time entry protocol, ensuring compliance with firm policies and best practices.

Specific Skills Required

Superb organizational, analytical and communications skills a must.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with paralegals, attorneys, and other professionals.

Ability to handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have flexibility to assist team in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules.

Education And Experience

Requires a 4-year degree or equivalent and 5 years of work experience at a law firm.

Basic computer skills including Word and Excel required.

Exposure to trademark litigation and TTAB preferred but not required.
