Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities
Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly
Responsible for completing ad hoc tasks as assigned by paralegals and attorneys, along with the direct supervisor
Manage all outgoing mailing and ensure that labeling and postage are in compliance with standard procedures and regulations
Assisting with trial, which includes preparation, printing documents, organizing documents with direction from paralegals and attorneys, and assisting with jury selection
Occasionally required to deliver documents to the court and accompany attorneys during trial
Qualifications
Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary
Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation $18 - $19 hourly with eligibility for performance bonus
