Starting at $12.00 per hour
Purpose of Position:
This seasonal position is responsible for delivering exemplary guest services at the Waterpark concession stand. Responsibilities include providing good customer service, selling concession items, money handling, preparing concession items for sale while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enthusiastically greets guests with a positive attitude while assisting guests with the sale and serving of concession items.
Assist in the preparation and serving of hot and cold food; heat, prepare and arrange food items; work as part of a team to fill guests food orders.
Effectively and accurately manages cash and credit card transactions while following all applicable cash handling policies and procedures.
Responsible for following all appropriate local and state health department rules and regulations.
Stock condiments, food items and paper goods; assist in the storage and rotation of food and supplies in storage areas.
Cleaning and organizing work areas, equipment, utensils and service station.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Ability to learn methods and procedures for preparing and serving food in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow sanitation practices related to the handling and serving of food.
Responsible for following all appropriate local and state health department rules and regulations.
Ability to accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
Ability to work a retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends and some holidays.
Ability to accurately count currency, balance a cash drawer and cash journal.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work cooperatively as a team.
Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and that might involve the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials weighing 10-40 pounds.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions associated with an outdoor concession kitchen, such as heat, cold, humidity, rain, and temperature extremes and within moderate to loud sounds.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Operate kitchen equipment, register, and assigned software.
Positively promote the image of Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation.
Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
Minimum of 15 years old.
Previous cash handling and/or customer services experience preferred.
Food Handler Certification required within first week.
Must Complete Prior to Starting with Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation:
Must pass a background check that encompasses national, state and local searches, upon hire and regularly throughout employment.
