Job Details
The position of Reading Tutor is responsible for serving as a reading intervention teacher for grade 4‑8 students for a federally funded research project in the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk at The University of Texas at Austin. This position includes teaching daily reading lessons to students using a structured reading program, documenting daily activities, and planning for differentiation of instruction. Reading intervention will be delivered daily to students on school campuses in Eanes ISD, Elgin ISD, Lake Travis ISD, and Rock Rock ISD.
Responsibilities
Prepare for and teach daily reading intervention to individual students in a one‑on‑one setting using a structured reading program with high fidelity and quality
Plan for differentiation of instruction
Complete and submit requested documentation on student progress, tutoring effort, and mileage
Attend team meetings and maintain communication with project supervisor
Participate in ongoing coaching
Required Qualifications
At least two years of prior experience working with children.
Daily access to transportation to campuses in Eanes ISD, Elgin ISD, Lake Travis ISD, and Rock Rock ISD.
Daily availability during regular school hours.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or similar field.
Daily access to transportation to campuses in Eanes ISD, Elgin ISD, Lake Travis ISD, and Rock Rock ISD.
Daily availability during regular school hours.
Hourly Rate $20 + depending upon qualifications
