New to Practice Registered Nurse (RN) - Accelerated Clinical Education Program (ACE) - Memorial Regional Medical Center Thank you for considering a career at Bon Secours! The Accelerated Clinical Education (ACE) Program is a 12-week program designed specifically to support the new-to-practice Nurse in preparation for an RN bedside role. ACE will help you find the area you are passionate about, without the added stress of being alone. The continuing education and the ability to work with an experienced nurse provide you with confidence to ask questions, admit what you don’t know, and try things you’ve only read about. The Experience: Candidates are exposed to multiple units and observation experiences throughout the program. Educators, along with preceptors and Nurse Directors, assess each participant’s clinical progression to match their best fit within the facility. All new hires will be required to work a combination of 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts to align with their preceptor’s schedule for up to 40 hours per week, including weekends. Primary Function Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines patient problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care. Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and care provided by the health team. Essential Job Functions Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. Creates a care plan, implements treatment, and evaluates effectiveness. Administers medications safely according to state regulations and hospital policies. Acts as a point of contact for patient care coordination across departments. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and promotes patient safety. Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery. Skills Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and innovations. Strong nursing judgment and skills based on sciences. Application of the nursing process and care coordination. Effective health teaching, advocacy, and collaboration skills. Proficiency with clinical technologies and commitment to quality improvement. Accountability, resource stewardship, conflict management, and resilience. Certifications BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred) Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required) Education Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred) Bon Secours is an equal opportunity employer.
