Located in our beautiful flagship facility at 2155 East Paris Ave in Grand Rapids , our Expert Team—led by Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons, Drs. Bengtson, Alfonso, and Horriat—serves patients from across Michigan and beyond. We specialize in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic solutions designed to help each patient achieve natural, proportional, and beautiful results—paired with an extraordinary experience every time.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a licensed Medical Aesthetician. This role blends hands-on patient care with education, coordination, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, forward-thinking, and deeply aligned with our patient-centric mission.
About the Role
The Medical Aesthetician provides comprehensive aesthetic care throughout the patient journey, including consultations, treatments, and follow-up. This role requires in-depth knowledge of skincare, aesthetic services, and surgical offerings to promote cross-disciplinary care and exceptional outcomes.
Part-time position (16–24 hours/week)
Job Summary
The Medical Aesthetician is responsible for:
Delivering patient-centered aesthetic care with a focus on safety, education, and results Supporting patients during consultation, pre-operative, and post-operative phases Understanding and promoting all skincare, non-surgical, and surgical services Coordinating patient care Demonstrating accountability, professionalism, and ongoing clinical development
Education & Experience
State of Michigan Licensed Aesthetician (required) Prior experience in a Plastic Surgery office, MedSpa, or Hair Restoration practice preferred Previous healthcare or surgical environment experience desired Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively
Essential Knowledge & Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM Strong proficiency with electronic medical records and charting Ability to operate aesthetic and medical equipment, including HydraFacial, OxyGeneo, and laser devices Competency with general office equipment Strong attention to detail and basic problem-solving skills
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in accordance with treatment protocols and state/federal regulations Conduct in-depth patient consultations and provide personalized treatment recommendations Educate patients on products, services, home care regimens, and treatment plans Collaborate with physicians regarding protocols, complications, and patient outcomes Coordinate follow-up communication related to treatments, products, and home care Maintain accurate and thorough patient medical records, including treatment history and education Monitor, operate, and maintain equipment per manufacturer and safety guidelines Maintain treatment rooms and workspaces in compliance with OSHA and internal standards Partner with Materials Management on inventory, ordering, and pricing Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, and ongoing training Track referral sources and support patient retention initiatives Engage in BCAPS social media efforts per internal policy Foster positive relationships with patients, vendors, physicians, and team members Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned
Working Conditions & Physical Demmands
Clinical office environment with exposure to medical equipment, chemicals, and bodily fluids Frequent standing, walking, talking, and patient interaction Intermittent lifting and manual dexterity required OSHA Category II position with established Universal Precautions in place
