Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a
Project Engineering Manager
for direct hire with a leading local manufacturer. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll lead capital projects, enhance facility infrastructure, and champion process improvements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
Lead all phases of capital project management—from planning and budgeting to design, construction, and optimization Oversee infrastructure systems including ammonia refrigeration, wastewater, power distribution, steam generation, and controls Analyze energy and utility usage, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/federal regulatory requirements Partner with cross-functional teams to improve safety, reliability, and plant performance Manage documentation and filing of environmental permits and compliance reports Conduct investigations of near-misses or safety incidents and implement corrective actions Maintain and update site and equipment drawings using AutoCAD Mentor and support plant teams in GMP compliance, continuous improvement, and food safety initiatives
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in engineering or project management 3–5 years of experience in food & beverage manufacturing or a GMP-regulated environment Demonstrated success in managing capital projects, budgets, and process improvement initiatives Familiarity with TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, and food manufacturing systems Experience with controls systems such as Allen Bradley or Siemens preferred Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
