Role Overview As Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for a team of 3–5 hardware and software engineers while remaining a hands‑on contributor. You will own system architecture and project execution, interface directly with customers, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. This position is based on‑site in Tucson with flexibility for occasional hybrid or remote work. Responsibilities Own the design and implementation of embedded hardware system architecture to meet project goals and customer needs. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding a team of 3–5 across multiple projects. Manage the full project lifecycle—from technical sales support and quoting to final delivery—ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards. Interface with customers to gather requirements, present technical solutions, and communicate progress. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (electrical, mechanical, software) to ensure cohesive product development. Maintain broad technical expertise in embedded hardware and software, with deep knowledge in at least one core area. Contribute to proposal writing, budgeting, and continuous process improvements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of hands‑on embedded hardware design experience, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and bring‑up. Demonstrated success leading technical teams or acting as a hardware technical lead on complex projects. Proficiency in embedded software fundamentals (e.g., C/C++) and debugging hardware‑software interactions. Experience working within a regulated industry such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or industrial. Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, IEC 61508, MIL‑STD‑810). Strong project management, estimation, and documentation capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders. Willingness to work on‑site in Tucson, AZ, with flexibility for several hybrid/remote days per month Seniority level
