What is this role?
The
Total Rewards Manager
will lead our benefits, payroll, and leave of absence programs, ensuring that our offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our people-first culture. This role will serve as a strategic and operational partner across the business and will be instrumental in managing and improving employee experience across benefits, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and Leaves of Absence.
What does an average day look like?
Driving Results:
Lead the administration and ongoing improvement of Cirkul’s benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness initiatives. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in collaboration with finance and HR. Own leave management processes, including FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and personal leaves—ensuring legal compliance and compassionate communication.
Taking Ownership:
Serve as the subject matter expert on total rewards and compliance programs—proactively identifying risks, gaps, and areas for optimization. Maintain and improve internal policies and systems to ensure a seamless employee experience.
Making Decisions:
Evaluate benefits offerings and vendor partnerships to ensure competitiveness and cost-efficiency. Provide guidance and make recommendations to leadership based on benchmarking, data analysis, and trends.
Cultivating Relationships:
Partner with People, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless delivery of rewards programs. Act as a resource and advocate for employees navigating benefits or leave-related needs.
Instilling Trust:
Safeguard confidentiality and ensure accuracy in all compensation, benefit, and leave processes. Deliver timely, accurate communication to employees at all levels.
Customer Focus:
Be a responsive and empathetic point of contact for employee questions and escalations. Create clear, accessible resources and training to help employees understand and maximize their benefits.
What background should you have?
5+ years of experience in HR with a focus on total rewards, benefits administration, payroll, and/or leave management Deep knowledge of federal and state employment laws related to payroll, benefits, FMLA, ADA, and Workers Compensation Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindset Passion for continuous improvement and a proactive approach to problem-solving
