Senior Sales Engineer - Telecommunications

Responsibilities: Lead technical conversations, translating business requirements into optical network solutions. Provide vendor-neutral guidance to identify the best fit for customer needs. Design and plan optical networks, including architecture, link budgets, and component selection. Collaborate with sales teams to craft winning, technically sound proposals. Participate in customer meetings and deliver engaging product demos. Support pricing, proposals, and statements of work (SOW). Stay current with industry trends and emerging optical technologies. Provide occasional lab support and hands-on equipment configuration. Skills/Must have: Minimum 5 years’ experience in optical networking, ideally in a vendor environment. Strong background supporting or selling OEM optical/networking products. Confident leader who can control and influence stakeholder discussions. Deep knowledge of optical fiber principles, optical network design, and optical components (lasers, WDM, photodetectors, etc.). Expertise in Layer 1 protocols (e.g., DWDM, SONET/SDH, ROADM). Working knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, EVPN). Excellent communication and presentation skills. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, or computer science—or equivalent experience. Location: Richardson, Texas Salary: Base salary of $140,000 Up to 40% bonus based on company performance.
