Mid/Senior Software Engineer

You will advise Air Force senior managers on the performance, survivability, safety and surety of software products involved in special weapon systems and support equipment. You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills. Responsibilities Design, develop, evaluate and test, and deploy software applications for weapons systems and support equipment. Develop clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement in software quality. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software for performance and reliability. Maintain technical documentation and assist with user documentation where necessary. Conduct safety/surety analysis of computer system configuration items with interfaces between the delivery platform and the special weapon. Contribute to software architecture decisions and system design discussions. Develop and brief safety/surety analyses to managers and stakeholder. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in electronics design and development with demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScrip) Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools, e.g., JIRA. DOD Security clearance (mandatory) Experience with air launched or ICBM weapon systems, dual capable aircraft joint Department of Defense and Department of Energy system life cycle management process, phases, milestones, and organizations (highly desired) Seniority level
