Description At The Law Offices of Anna R. Yum, we fight to protect clients' futures and freedom when accused of a crime. Our AV-rated firm is highly reputable, fast-paced, and team-oriented. We handle all types of criminal matters in the Southern California area. We are rapidly growing and seeking a highly motivated criminal defense attorney to handle their own robust caseload. The ideal candidate is confident in the courtroom and able to think quickly on his/her feet. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1-year prior law firm experience. We offer a highly competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and 401(k) retirement plan. Your growth is our priority, and we provide a transparent performance-based bonus structure tied to key performance indicators (KPIs) and overall contribution. In addition, you’ll receive origination fees for any clients you bring to the firm offering real potential to increase your compensation as you grow your reputation. At our firm, you’ll also receive hands-on mentorship from top-tier trial attorneys with a track record of success in high-stakes criminal cases. From day one, you’ll work closely with our senior attorneys and have direct client contact, court appearances, and opportunities to build your own courtroom presence all with support behind you every step of the way. You’ll gain invaluable trial and negotiation experience that few firms provide this early in your career. Responsibilities Effectively litigate pre-trial hearings and motions Negotiate potential dispositions or plea bargains concerning misdemeanors from beginning to end You will be expected to take responsibility for a client's case – conduct client meetings and recommend strategies; communicate with prosecutors, witnesses, and experts, etc. Defend clients in administrative per se hearings for DUI cases Defend against and/or prosecute temporary restraining order hearings Must be comfortable and confident in the courtroom, and not fearful of going to trial if necessary This position requires an attorney who can confidently and competently handle a sizable caseload Qualifications Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive to various courthouses in Southern California for cases Minimum 1 year experience at a law firm Must be an active member and have no disciplinary record with the California State Bar Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required Compensation $90,000 and up (yearly base salary and DOE). Bonus compensation, origination incentives, and structured salary reviews based on performance. Clear path to six-figure total comp and base increases with tenure and results. That’s a good sign.
